HAIL to thee, blithe spirit! Bird thou never wert

Ok, I just get over one kind of flu, only...to come down with another!?! I went to bed early last night because I was tired, and I wake up with a stuffy head, sore throat, and the almost complete and total inability to talk.

Gee, it sure would be nice to have that tea....

So I check the tracking - and they don't even have an estimated delivery date anymore. Which, all things being equal, I took as a Bad Sign. So I call up FedEx, and croak out the explanation, and ask if my package really is, as promised yesterday, going to be delivered today. This is where the funny starts. Ok, I find it funny, but I'm sick and doped up on 'Quil, so it's possible that it really isn't.

Apparently, the driver for this area was "terminated." Presumably yesterday, from what else was said. And they're Expressing my package to me today. Or so they say - I'm not entirely sure I believe them.

I had all sorts of plans for this weekend, but it appears that they've all been superceded by a profound need to stare at the ceiling and drool.

Things that Amuse Me #455,293,115

Irish Breakfast Tea: Our new combination of black teas from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Assam (India). As its name implies, Irish Breakfast tea is an ideal accompaniment to a morning meal. It smoothly blends the high notes of a high-grown Ceylon with the malty underscore of a hearty Assam. May be enjoyed plain or with a drop of milk. One of our most popular teas. The perfect afternoon tea.

Implying something about the Irish, are we? Also, this was funny: " The old adage "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" has never been less applicable than with our delicious Apple tea."

This premium Ceylon tea flavored with summer cherries is treat for any Chekhov fans musing in their cherry orchard, delectable both hot and cold. If you've never read Chekhov, it doesn't have a happy ending. If you'd never tried our Cherry tea, it'll make up for it.

In other news, this one-two flu punch sucks. A lot. And I'm still having trouble doing basic things like, say, eating. I think the only day this week I managed to get two actual meals was Thursday. Today - well, I ate, and I might even get some benefit from it. Although my head may explode first.

If anyone finds my missing immune system, slightly used, there is a reward.

[EDIT] Ok, this is about five eleventybillion kinds of awesome. I need a sparkly PVC Wonder Woman costume! Actually, a sparkly PVC Poison Ivy costume would rock much more. Or Harley Quinn. Why do DC characters have more kickass costumes than Marvel?

*STAB*

I'm sure this will come as no suprise to anyone - the story has now changed from "We'll put it on the Express truck and get it to you today" to "you might get it Tuesday."

What the hell does it take for a girl to get some freaking tea? Had I not been so horribly sick, Erik would have had to restrain me from doing something unfortunate to the FedEx truck we ended up behind on our way into town. As it was, I mustered up all my spare energy to make rude gestures at them.

Ugh. Not feeling so good. Erik was kind enough to leave me his sandwich to eat, but...I managed to eat mine, but keeping it et is taking a good bit of willpower. Lunch...wasn't. I'm doped up on spearmint tea at the moment (it was some lovely, lovely citron green earlier - I'm not superfond of green tea, but this stuff might make me a convert. I'm certainly going to be getting some more green tea samples the next time I order), and I might follow it up with some chamomile. I'm having trouble convincing myself to try the chamomile, because even though I know that I love chamomile tea, the stuff smells incredibly nasty when dry and unbrewed.

Also, honey would be good right about now. Throat = gone. Maybe I should go to bed. Except laying down means more hurt.
