So - I'm volunteering at the Faire all four weekends. And while the current job I'm going to be doing doesn't strictly require garb, I've been planning on buying a Faire dress for quite some time. Actually, I had intended to buy one this summer, for the PA Faire, so I just have to move my plans up a bit.

Now - I'm at a loss as to which to get. The one I had decided on I went with primarily because a) I liked it; and b) I could get it at about 30% off. I can't anymore, which means I can play a little more.

There's the Celtic dress, which was my original pick, and the cheapest of the three. I'd get it in hunter and kelly green.

There's the Flemish dress, with hat, which I would probably get in blue. My biggest concern with this one is that the style, in velvet no less, isn't the most forgiving, and may serve to emphasize the fact that I have not yet lost weight off my lower abs or hips (everywhere else, yes - just not there).

Third and finally, there's the Abita di Firenze Gown, possibly accompanied with the headband fall. No clue what color I'd go with, although green and gold sounds good, as does blue and silver. Or maybe green and silver. No chemise needed for this one, either, so it's actually cheaper than the Flemish dress. Also, while it's more formal, it's not too formal, and it's a very comfortable style.

I'll get to wear this for at least five weekends - four for the VA faire, and at least one at the PA faire. Chances are good that I'll buy a second dress next year. Thoughts, opinions?

Hmm.. the Celtic dress is a cute and classic one. The Abita di Firenze Gown is also gorgeous, and gives a slight more refined look than the Celtic dress. Both of them would look great on you, because both of them enhance the female shape, making the woman look elegant.

I guess it'd be up to what you want, and the weather. The Albita di Firense gown seems to be a bit more warm than the Celtic dress, but on the other hand if you get it and the headband fall you can alternate betwen a more or less formal style by using the headband or not. The Celtic dress gives a more commoner look.

And these were, as you Americans say, my 3 cents ^_^

As for the Flemish dress... personaly I don't like it. It doesn't do anything for the female figure, besides flattening your shape and making you look like a board.

If I can save up enough by May I think I'll try to buy myself a celtic in the blue and red. I love the flemish with the white sleeves, but alas, I am poor =)

I think the celtic would be super cute on you in green. But the frienze is absolutely the more regal and refined of the two. So just depends on if you want to be the people's friend, or their queen and tyr- err I mean benevolent despot =)

Also, I have a wedding to go on Saturday, and I need something nice looking to wear. Wanna go shopping with me? (is desperately afraid of clothing stores)

How about 1-1:30ish? I'll just head to Waldens and have fun playing with books.

Hmm...Firenze looks like a good choice mostly because I just like the style better and removable sleeves sounds really really cool. ^^;;

Hmm...Green and silver or blue and silver...>_>;;
