martialstax (who has declared that he would quickly marry me and then just as quickly divorce me, which sounds rather expensive) has confirmed me as a member of the nerdoscente today. Yay!

And let it be henceforth noted that I find this website both horrifically terrible and incredibly awesome at the same time. *shudder* But it looks like it's going onto the list of faires that Stacey and I will be trolling attending. Along with the Sterling faire, KYRF (depressing!), and some rinkydink faire in NJ that looks like it's pretty much comparable to VARF. Which I may pass on, just because...the weekend before VARF opens and my sister-in-law gets married is probably not the best weekend to be driving to DE for very little payoff.

*checks mapquest* Ok, maybe not KYRF. The directions are pretty much "Get on I-64 and drive until you're almost in Indiana," and that's a little much for me. *shudders* Nine hours of driving? Just to turn around and do it again? Ain't no way...

Let it be henceforth known that the opinions of anyone who does not find Planetes (anime and manga) to be one of the best things evah are hereby considered suspect until the end of time. Because that's some good crack you're smoking.

And, since all the cool kids are doing it, here are my top five anime series at the current moment in time:

1. Princess Tutu
2. Planetes
3. Twelve Kingdoms.

And, uh...I dunno. Lots of other things are good, but not...that good. I'll say Maison Ikkoku and Petite Princess Yucie. Or I could just as easily say Haibane Renmei and Kino no Tabi. Or Twin Spica and Kodocha. Or Utena and Last Exile. But those top three...nothing compares.

[EDIT] Let it also be henceforth known that when there is a 20th Century Boys anime, it has a place reserved on this list. Because there's no way it could possibly be any less than supremely awesome. Urasawa++ Icon change.
