Every county to the south and west of my house had, essentially, school closings across the board due to snow. There's no snow at my house yet, or here at work, but it's threatening in both places.
Oh, and there was hail on my way in to work this morning. Yay! Also a fire drill once at work, in the cold. Yay! As soon as it starts snowing out my way, Erik is supposed to call so I canfly like a bat out of hell make my sedate way back home before the roads out there get too horrible to drive on. When you have narrow, windy country roads with no shoulders, that doesn't take long.
A quick stop at the grocery store for more milk (required for most tea, and cocoa as well) and waxed paper (for chocolate dipped stuff) might be in order as well. Three different kinds of cookies, biscotti, and scones still to go, after all...Lots and lots of scones, because otherwise I will eat them all, and there will be none left for gift-giving. Scones are love.
I so want the base to close, but that's so not happening this year. Unless we have a situation where there's upwards of three feet of snow, but it's not even all that likely in that very unlikely eventuality.
Maybe I should make cranberry scones, too. Cranberry scones are almost as good as gingerbread scones on the great continuity of sconish greatness. And they go better with cranberry tea. Yum. I'm almost out of that, though, which is sad.
