Spinning? It's like soothing crack for my brain. I've broken down and started bringing projects with me everywhere...including work (mostly for Fridays and Saturdays, after the real work is done). If you ever want every random person who sees you to strike up a conversation? Bust out a spindle. For serious. I've had more conversations with coworkers today than I think I've had all week, and I haven't exactly been quiet. I'm also making progress on my maybe-lace project that's been dormant since December. (It'll probably end up closer to a light fingering, but that's still major progress for me!) It's preeeeeetty - a gorgeous blue/brown blend with plenty of sparkle that twists and changes at random.

This post brought to you by the letter 'B' (for boredom), and the number Crackferret.

Hee! I'll be bringing my drop spindle to the law school cookout this evening. They won't be terribly shocked - I knit in class, so they all know I'm weird and love me anyway. ;)

You can substitute "spindle" for any craft accessory, too! I find that if you are making something with your hands, any form of craft, strangers and onlookers don't hesitate to talk to you at all about what you are doing. Which, actually, kind of unnerves me, because usually if I am crafting in public it's because I'm in a hurry to finish what I am working on or else I'm using it as an exercise in zen, and in either case do not want to be interrupted. Not your point, though, I know. :P

PS: I MADE [FRESH] STRAWBERRY MUFFINS LAST NIGHT.

I HAVE MUFFIN LUST NAO!

We're going to try to make a last-ditch attempt to pick more tomorrow. Because dude - STRAWBERRIES!! $1.20 a POUND!!

Good luck on the strawberries! I feel for your lack of berriness. The ones I just got yesterday for the muffins were definitely end of season berries here ... I'm a little sad. And I kinda paid a lot for them too, because they were farmers market but not pick your own - I mean I know it's not the point of fresh, local organics, but... I could have bought ripe berries at the store for half the price, too.

Don't be TOO jealous though - the muffins are OK, not great. They were good last night with the sugar-syrupy-slices, kinda like eating strawberry shortmuffin? And if I thought it would last, I'd mail you a muffin. :>
