So, Erik asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and the only thing I can think of that I want - literally, the only thing I can think of - is another spindle (or twelve), a pretty niddy noddy that comes apart, and more fiber. It's taken over my brain. BUT MORE THAN ONE PERSON WANTS TO MAKE THINGS FROM MY YARN! This makes me absurdly happy, as clumsy and uneven as it is.
I'm going to finish up the two skeins I'm working on this weekend - I think I can space things out to where I can let the yarn rest and still have time to ply both sets of singles. This is why I need more spindles. At least, that's the justification. I need different weights to play with to get different weights of yarn, and a nice big plying spindle, and one like my icon just for the hell of it, and...
(On the plus side, I have less of a desire for a wheel now. I like the portability of handspinning.)
ETA: This is made of awesome. Actually, all his spindles are - they're made of shower drains, CD cases, jar lids, and other found objects, and they just look neat. I want one. (Actually, by current count, I want seventeen spindles, some more likely than others. Because who wouldn't want a mammoth tooth spindle? Or one with Apache basket weaving? But my next two will be a heavier plying spindle, and something a little heavier than my Grafton. This is Decided.)
