As of today, for the next three months, I am officially a Creature of the Night. Which should be interesting. Begone, foul Daywalkers!
...In actuality, I want nothing more than to crawl into bed right now and sleeeeeeeeep. But I know that, despite my rather severe level of exhaustion, that would be a profoundly bad idea. Because, in two days, I'm going to have to be driving home from work at the peak of rush hour, and the more transitioned I am the better.
Waaaant. Sleeeeep.
Other than that, things are going surprisingly well. Erik's found a routine that works and is making him healthier and happier - down here, amazingly enough. His car breaking down was actually a good thing, as odd as that sounds. We'll see how long it lasts after his car is fixed...Gray's mostly sleeping through the night, although last night was rough and horrible and I had to leave him to cry his eyes out in his bed because an hour of trying other things didn't work to get him back to sleep and it was 3AM. That's pretty much the only time that he's woken up before 8AM in weeks. *_*
He was funny today - we were busy driving around the whole damn state, so he was in the carseat...a lot. And with memaw for part of the day, to avoid further riding in carseat. So he only actually had one nap today. When we got him back in the car around 8PM, he should have crashed, and crashed hard. He didn't. Actually, he stayed awake for *two hours*, until Erik decided he was hungry and stopped at McDonalds (bleh...). He got an ice cream cone, and gave it to Gray, sans ice cream. Who proceeded to spend the next fifteen minutes examining the thing, babbling, and singing to it before it ever occurred to him to stick it in his mouth. Those of you with babies will know that this is some sort of world record. Once he sampled it, he pretty much devoured the whole thing, and then crashed. For a little while. And then went down with an "oh, thank god you guys are finally letting me sleep" sort of attitude when we got back to the house.
He's silly. I'm still tired. I need to stay awake for at least another two and a half hours. At least. *SOB*
