It occurs to me - it's August. And before you comment on what a blindingly obvious observation that is, and that it has, in fact, been August for four entire days, let me point out the not-so-obvious corollary. August is the month when Honeycrisp apples in the more northern reaches get ripe.
*purrrrr* That means there's a chance - a chamce - that local grocery stores will start getting them in soon. Although it doesn't become full out stalker time until, say, September. That's when the time to buy fifteen pounds at a time arrives. Have to stock up, you know! Although driving to Warrenton and buying a bushel might not be entirely a bad idea - it would be a heck of a lot cheaper. I'd just have to, you know, drive to Warrenton, which is far.
