Quilt Pink is...amazing. Basically, a bunch of people all over the world got together one day and made quilts to raise money for breast cancer research. And by "made quilts" I mean "made over 3600 quilts," which is about eight thousand kinds of amazing. They have some going up for auction every week for the next whenever. Mom and I are picking up a few - one for her friend Susan, a breast cancer survivor, and I'm getting one for Mom for her birthday, although she doesn't know this yet.
Some of them are...amazing. Some are pretty nice, until you see closeups of some of the fabrics or the back, at which point they turn hideous. But they've convinced me that yes, I still really want to take up quilting (one of the few hobbies that will let me indulge my fabric whoredom to its fullest extent). So we'll see - my poor sewing machine is gathering dust.
Erik and I are also finally starting our garden this fall - at least 20x20, chicken wire dug 6-8 inches into the ground, with electric fence over that. Which should serve to keep out the stupidest rabbits and deer, at least.
