Laced/Unlaced is now officially ordered. There's...really not much to look forward to on the first disc, since I think I have all those tracks already, but I'm really, really looking forward to Unlaced. Yay!

I'm not entirely sure what to say about this, other than the fact that it's horrible, and seems a pretty clear illustration that we've managed to fuck up Baghdad royally.

On a slightly brighter note, apparently all those buckets full of pennies I have laying around the house are actually worth more than what I can spend them for. Yay?

I've probably mentioned this before, but the relatively new revamp of the whole community kitchen idea, as executed by a billion different companies such as Super Suppers and Dream Dinners...are freaking brilliant!

Erik and I are eating in more frequently, eating better food (sometimes much better - these are some tasty recipes!), and actually spending less on groceries by doing this. And the one complaint I had about Dream Dinners - namely, that 6PM was too late for a session to start - seems to have been answered, since they have 4:30 sessions now. Which is - pretty much perfect for me. Rawk!

Plus, it's a hell of a lot easier for me to get Erik to cook more frequently. ^_^ Although I keep discovering odd lapses in his culinary knowledge - the boy had no idea how to make french toast. French toast! How can you not know how to make french toast? But he's learning, and picking up on the fact that there's a whole lot of art in cooking - the instructions are guidelines, not hard-and-fast rules. Because there is no way in hell I'm eating a steak that's been broiled for three minutes on each side. Ugh...

And the three serving meals are perfect for us - if Erik's super-hungry, there's enough, and if he's not, one of us has lunch the next day. It works out well. And gives me more ideas for recipes that I hadn't thought of - cooking chicken breasts in a crock pot had never occured to me, for example.

And these places are everywhere! There were three in Fredericksburg - one closed for family reasons, but my mother has four to choose from in Va Beach. She's actually working one night a week at one of them, in exchange for free food. ^_^
