Please note: Saying "I found a body in the road" has slightly different implications than "I found an unconscious person laying in the middle of the road." Also, if you're going to wake somebody up from a dead sleep to tell them either of the above, followed by "the cops might be here soon," prefacing said revelations with some background or perhaps context would be appreciated.
Also, if you have a strange habit of finding bodies (dead or otherwise) laying on or just off the road...maybe you're doing something wrong? I can safely say that I have never found a body (livign or dead) laying on (or just off) the road in my life. Nor have I ever had reason to say "the puddle of blood he was laying in was already starting to coagulate, so he had clearly been there for a while."
For the record, he was apparently a victim of drunken four-wheeling on dark, icy roads - in other words, rank stupidity. Of course, Erik's first thought was of paranoid foul play. But with his record - and that of his family - I suppose I can't blame him.
