Victoly! Of a provisional sort - things aren't running like they should.
Getting to this point was...fun. The second processor did the trick, which made me happy. I did not want to have to try replacing the motherboard again. >.< DVI->VGA converter was purchased, at the fourth store we went to, so I have video, and it's looking like I might need to skip the whole "buy a SATA to IDE converter so I can connect my two optical drives" issue and just buy a SATA HD - my current ones apparently didn't escape unscathed.
And wasn't that fun - it would start loading Windows...and then restart. And start loading into safe mode...and reboot. And I have no freaking idea what I set the Admin password to - I suspect I mistyped one of my usual ones, because I can't figure it out. I had to reinstall Windows (but not reformat the drive) with the case open and one of my optical drives balanced on the frame, since I can't connect one optical drive and one hard drive on the same IDE converter because of the way my case is set up - they're just too far apart. Lot o' errors while reinstalling Windows. And more when attempting to reinstall Security Pack 2 + updates off CD. I don't know if that even took. So I'm not sure how much life my current hard disc has left. Which means the only things to stay from the old system are the optical drives, the modem, and the case. >.< This keeps getting more expensive.
...wow, when I scroll down, there is no smoothness. That's going to annoy the heck out of me if I can't figure out how to fix it...Looks like I might need to install new drivers?
Whatever - this process has been annoying as hell, and taken up pretty much three full days. Not counting, of course, the days of just not having a computer before the parts arrived.

[EDIT] 40.5 MB. I feel kind of like shooting myself at the moment.
