This is one of the best articles I've read recently relating to privacy concerns in terrorist investigations, the problems caused by technology, and preemptive stirikes. It focuses on the UK, but the problems are universal. If you want the key points, Bruce Schneier summarizes it nicely. There's no neat answer to this, but I lean towards the solutions that afford us the most liberty and privacy.
(In other news, the love I bear towards gyro tends towards the carnal and obscene. I've discovered that on Really Bad Days when I don't bring my lunch, I end up at the Olympus Deli for the best damn gyro on the planet, with carrot sticks and fresh kalamata olives. Yay! Tonight, we go out to dinner and a movie to celebrate Erik's birthday, which was yesterday.)
