The Zoo over Ambuscade Street

This is freaking hysterical. Also insane. My time is worth more than $3 (or even $5) an hour, which is about what you'd be wasting with this.

Has anyone ever gotten anything framed at Michaels? They're having a custom framing sale this week, 70% off when you do three or more pieces at the same time, and I have a stack of prints that want homes. 70% off sounds nice, but I don't know how their prices compare to other custom frame companies. I'm accustomed to paying $120-300 retail for the framing, depending on the size of the piece, the complexity of the matting, and the time of frame moulding. 70% off of that would be beyond awesome, for obvious reasons. So...anyone know?

I left work early today, because I had a rather urgent appointment with my couch. Alas, it was not to be - no sooner do I get home and start relaxing, then the mail lady pulls up...with a priority mail box. Is it? Could it be? I had to sign for it, which just made the anticipation all the greater. And it was! My Boots of Awesome +5 arrived today, and they're pretty much love. Incarnate.

I was telling my mom that they were the best fitting boots I've had since...and she cut me off with "Ever?" She knows the Issues that have been had - not the least of which was that as a child I was forbidden from spending more than ten minutes (and that was pushing it) in a shoe store, which is pretty high on the list of my mother's Most Hated Places.

They're...substantially taller than I was expecting, for some reason. I was thinking mid-calf, based on the heights listed on his web site, but these come to about an inch and a half below my knee. Which works well, all things being equal.

I also set things in motion for Incredibly Awesome COA Thing #2, which I'm not going to share details of, because it's very likely to not happen...this year. Still, anything's possible, and it would be an unbelievable coup (and draw!) if it does go through.

Wow, I really could have used that nap, I'm feeling a bit sleepy right about now...
