machine_dove at 05:47pm on 18/04/2006Errol Flynn is love. But there's a warped, twisted part of me that's watching The Sea Hawk and going "ouch, that isn't very Elizabethan!" It gets louder in the scenes with English noblewomen.
Still...Errol Flynn is love.
[EDIT] Ok, Errol Flynn love does not sufficiently counterbalance the horror that is "Elizabethan" gowns with 18th Century panniers. *twitch* I can handle the non-period fabrics and trim, the blatant liberties taken with things like ruffs, but the removal of the bumroll and farthingale and replacement with panniers was an abomination. No more Sea Hawk for me. Captain Blood is next, and should erase the burn nicely.
