Ow. I have raked, and shoveled, and moved debris into a huge truck, and helped to construct a goat pen. This sounds like a lot, but really...there wasn't enough for all of us to do. At least, not this weekend. Annoying! My back and shoulders are all sore now, yay.

Oh my freaking god. The Green Valley Book Fair? Sexiest thing evar. Someone asked if there was really money to be made selling remaindered books...I think the answer to that is a resounding "YES!"

First off, the parking lot. Easily a hundred cars, possibly twice that if there was a lot on the other side of the barn as well. Cars from all over the eastern seaboard, and farther inland - I saw Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, North and South Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York...lots and lots of people, from everywhere.

The barn itself is huge, incredibly huge. Think Borders, but with a second story of books. Lots of books. Overwhelming numbers of books. It was...overwhelming. That's really the only word for it.

I left with $160 or so worth of books, and I could have easily found twice that, especially if I had time to browse through all of the general fiction/modern classics to find what was interesting. The highlight was Erik's face when he showed up with a basket full of books, and I told him I wasn't buying them for him. ^_^ It was pitiful and cute. I ended up buying them with mine (hence the $160 total), in exchange for him driving home.

Because damn! I hurt. A lot. I was upstairs with a basket full of books, and I had no idea how I was going to manage to get downstairs, because my legs were shaking so badly from fatigue. Good times.

And now I have...more books. More manga, too (they had Dragon Voice, lots of CLAMP stuff, Kodocha, One, and lots, lots more). And three yards of gorgeous light blue/ivory brocade that I need to figure out what I'm going to do with. It was an alternate choice for the sleeves on Stacey's birthday dress, but I like the ivory/brown better for her dress.

I need to go collapse in a puddle now.
