I am way more tired than is really healthy. I even had to stop for 24 ounces of coffinated horribleness. Don't worry, though - I didn't actually taste it for very long. Instead, I took one large swig as soon as I got in my car and burned all the taste buds out of my mouth.

I also amused myself with mental images of what a greyhound would do in my house. Since they're the laziest damn things in the world when there isn't a small furry thing running near their line of sight, and we have a small furry Pirate Cat who likes running about the house at top speed, it was pretty damn amusing.

And speaking of small furry Pirate Cats running about at top speed, Gracie somehow managed to slam herself sideways into the frame of the office door yesterday. I thought she had managed to hurt herself badly - when she walked away, it was very slowly, and with a pronounced tilt to the side. Five minutes later she was fine.

This actually happened yesterday:

Tea. I will go home, make tea, and pass out. I don't have to wake up again until about 10AM on Saturday, provided I drive fast.

MakingLight has an interesting post on the life expectancies of books, that includes a list of bestseller lists from 1900 to 1993. They suggest an exercise, below:

Which books have you read, from what years? Did you read them for a class, or for fun? )

Wow. I've been listening to my "musicals" playlist on my iPod for the past two days, on album shuffle, and it's been randomly pulling up exactly the show I want to hear next every single time.

Guys and Dolls was the one of last shows I was in in High School. I played Agatha, and if you have no idea who that is, there's a good reason for that. My sole purpose for existing was to serve coffee. I complained about being typecast - at the time, I was working in a coffee shop. And one of the dolls made off with one of my gorgeous vintage silk fifties wrap dresses. I'm still bitter about it, even if I wouldn't fit in it any more.

I adored our set for that show, too. We built risers, and painted them an obnoxious shade of bright, bright maroon. We had scaffolding at both wings, and a cityscape backdrop. Simple, but it worked so, so well.

I'd like to hear Little Shop next, but since I don't actually own that CD, and it's not on my iPod, that would be a neat trick. Same with Man of La Mancha. I need to remember to pick those up at some point.
