It was not a fluke. Sweet potato and curry really
are the perfect combination. Especially with tomatos and some coconut milk, simmered for almost an hour with some beef cubes. Yum. I have leftover curry for lunch, too. Life is good.
Mostly. For the past week I haven't been feeling...right. Not sick, exactly, but not right. Like my consciousness is located an inch too high and two inches too far to the right, and if I move too fast it's going to go flying off into the ether. Also, I feel like I haven't slept in weeks, despite getting more sleep than normal. I don't like this much. But it's hard to quantify. Not dizziness or vertigo, not low blood pressure or low blood sugar, just...something. Maybe all I need are a few solid days of rest. I was thinking about going up to MDRF this weekend since it's the final weekend, but...maybe not.
I actually have a DVD backlog at home, too! Five discs of Maison Ikkoku, Petite Cossette, the first disc of Gankutsuou, Planetes 3, Stellvia 7...I can't tell you the last time I've had this many unwatched DVDs. I have one from Netflix, too, and should be getting Gilgamesh 3 from them today.
Maybe I should leave early today. I don't want to sit through another stupid meeting...but leaving early would require sitting through another "Are you sure you have enough leave for that" lecture from New!Boss Lady, despite the fact that I don't actually need to use any leave at all. Grrrr...
The first parts of my morning commute is fun, music-wise. I get a couple of unusual Charlottesville stations at my house and for about the first twenty minutes of my drive -
91.9 WNRN, and
91.1 WTJU. I was listening to WNRN's Acoustic Sunrise program this morning, which features...acoustic music of varied and sundry sorts. Right before I lost the signal entirely to a Maryland Christian station, I heard bits and pieces of a song that (heh...) hit all the right notes with me. It had some awesome fiddle work, and I liked what I heard of the vocals, too. Unfortunately, the only line I can remember of the lyrics was "the bravest lad among the lot," and it's not turning up anything on lyrics searches. I emailed the station - hopefully they'll be able to let me know who this was.
In the meantime...work, because my awareness seems to be centered in my head properly again. Yay!
