So tired...
Yesterday, however, was quite a bit of fun. It took far too long to drag Erik out of bed and get him ready to go, so we set out several hours after I wanted to. Luckily, the back route I took to get to MDRF was almost entirely traffic-free. Yay! As opposed to, say, I-95N, which was still stopped when we were coming home.
MDRF is all about the fried food. Ugh. Fried chicken, french fries, fried cheese, fried peasant bread, fried ice cream - and if you're worried that all that fried food is far too common, you can have a fried pickle instead. Deep fried. Dill pickle. On a stick.
I can't wrap my brain around that one. I have enough trouble with the Ren Faire <-> pickle connection anyway, deep frying them just makes it worse.
What, you don't want a deep fried pickle? You're in the mood for a different kind of fried dessert? How about - wait for it - deep fried cheesecake. For when you absolutely, positively have to have a heart attack before Monday morning.
Still - it was fun, we wandered a bit, caught some shows, had a good time. I bought Erik a tooled belt - black, with blocks of the Kells eagle design in a pale tan, separated by celtic roundels. Very nice - he does have an eye for nice belts. I picked up a mostly practical turkey feather fan. For some reason, it was nice and cool Saturday, it's nice and cool today, but yesterday was blazing hot, so the fan came in Very Handy.
And, in a fit of strange coincidence, when we stopped to get drinks at the King George Wawa, we ran into a half-dozen of Erik's coworkers. Wierd.
Now - a nap under my desk? That sounds nice. Fu-Master is supposed to return today, after three weeks of absence. I'll remain silent on what I think of the network operations manager being gone for three weeks straight...
