I'm so tired right now that many things are becoming clear. I apparently have a lot of residual bitterness about work-related things. Lots. Oceans of it. Seas of bitterness, stretching as far as they eye can see. I need to get out.

I told Erik that if he wants to move, I just want two years *mumblemumble* to get a broader range of practical experience. "Black belt in bureaucratic infighting" doesn't fill out the resume very well...

This deserves mention. You mean my inch-long sewing scissors and/or nail clippers aren't a threat to national security after all!?! I do object to exempting high-ranking government officials and military from the same rules as the rest of us. Why? Because it's just a few short steps to exempting wealthy and powerful business-critters. Plus, the people making the rules should have to play by them, just like us peons.

Unless, of course, I qualify under the "high-level security clearance" clause, in which case it's OK - it's not like I haven't been singled-out for extra special treatment every single time I've flown anywhere in the past three years! Yes, I'm still bitter about the bath salts, too.

This made me laugh. A lot.

Am in Providence for the day, helping settle my son into his new living quarters. I think he needs a copy of the Library of America H. P. Lovecraft as a housewarming present, so that when the geometries of the house become subtly wrong, and he finds himself having to rummage through old newspaper clippings to find out what happened to the apartment's prior tenant, he'll at least know that this is perfectly usual. That way he'll also know to keep a diary explaining all this for us, and finally vanish... in a welter.... of italics and ellipses...

God bless HP Lovecraft. Also Neil Gaiman.

There's nothing worse than knowing that there are dozens, possibly more, of embarassing photographs floating around of you in funny clothes, but you have no way of actually finding any of these photos to find out how bad they actually are.

I have successfully drummed up two volunteers for the faire in two hours from the wench.org forums. Rock on!

Oh my good god, I must have this. Must. No question. #10, if anyone's feeling generous (or maybe 11 or 12...I'll have to take a closer look if they have these at MDRF).

This will be my elf costume, assuming I get the gig. Which will almost pay for the skirt + bodice. I suppose I could wait on the bloomers. But I must have the skirt, at least, ASAP.

I always knew I'd be a garb whore, which is one reason I waited so many years to start. If Melissa really does make me the two test-bodices, I'll have gained two dresses, two chemises, four bodices (at least three of which will have been free), two petticoats, and a skirt this season, in addition to the sundry additions like the belt, snoods, hat, etc. Minimum. Assuming I don't buy myself anything at MDRF or PARF, which I wouldn't bet on. I need more skirts. Like, say, the three-tier skirt or fancy 4-point overskirt here. I can't buy more skirts until I know what color(s) my new bodices are going to be, though. And Melissa did mention that she was going to make me a dark green skirt for my birthday...

At this rate I'll be able to wear a different combination every single day of VARF next season - all eleven days. And I still want one of these, too.

[EDIT] Erik loves me, and owes me both a birthday and anniversary present. He's buying me the skirt and bloomers. Yay! Now if the #!$#%! Moresca site will get over itself and load...

I have an added justification for these - I can wear them for Children's Fantasy Weekend, too. See? Buy garb, find something to wear it to. Easy! And I'll probably have the money for the bodice before the end of the MDRF season... *happydance*

GAH STUPID MORESCA SITE WON'T LET ME LOG IN!!! *STAB* I want my froufrou nifty skirt...
