Everybody who told me I was crazy now owes me an apology.

How long have I been predicting this now? Two years? Three? If I remember correctly, the only person who thought I was remotely on-track last time I mentioned it was Jeremy.

Last night our phone went out again and, of course, Cingular didn't feel inclined to provide us with a signal for our cell phones, so we couldn't do a damn thing about it.

First thing this morning after I got to work I called up Verizon to get them to fix the problem. Again. Slight problem, though - they can't get a technician out to fix it until Monday. Monday. No phone service at my house at all for almost six days. What the hell is wrong with these people?

There really aren't words to describe the depth of my peevishness at the moment. I'll have no way at all to get in touch with anybody if anything happens. I hate this.

Book List

I started, and finished, Troll: A Love Story in one night. I had intended to just read a few pages - it's that good. Highly recommended.

I'm currently reading The Fall of Kings, which happens some twenty years after Swordspoint, and is thus far shaping up to be quite an enjoyable book. Any fantasy that focuses on academics is OK by me. Interesting themes about the applicability of the "dead" past to present events as well, and about how ancient secrets can shake modern political foundations. I'm probably reading too much into it, but hey, it works for me.

I'll probably start on Tamsin next, but after that...I don't know. I want to read Across the Nightingale Floor, but I don't have the third book, which makes things a bit problematic. Maybe the Patricia McKillip books, or the Keltiad books. Too many choices!
