Companies like ADV (and for that matter "Geneon" which used to be Pioneer) wait until a show is popular in the fansub community, buy up the rights to it, and then rather than get on with the job of subtitling and dubbing it sit on it for YEARS before American audiences get the chance to see their "licensed" version.

We can accept that it takes time to record dubbing voices. We CANNOT accept that it takes them FIVE FUCKING YEARS before they're ready to release a single DVD with only two episodes on it.

I have no idea what he's talking about. The whole "rant without having a clue" vibe seems to be even stronger than it used to be.

So there I am, minding my own business, asleep, when I wake up because my dog is A) hyperventilating, and B) being really loud about it. And she keeps doing it. I'm starting to get rather concerned.

This isn't an isolated event - she had one of her panic attacks the first week we got her, and they've happened sporadically ever since. But it's usually only for a few seconds until we can calm her down. I made her get up and plied her with dog treats, so hopefully that'll make things better.

It's a damn good thing I don't have to work tomorrow, because at this point it's going to be hours before I can go to sleep. Of course, I do have to drive to Richmond to get my poor car looked at first thing, but I only have to be coherent for the driving part - the sitting in the waiting room for several hours part can be done asleep. I'm pissed that I have to go at all, because a less than two year old Mini should not be making noises like that. Or shuddering while idle. Or really, really sluggish. The God of Wheeled Things hates me.
