I am absolutely heartbroken to discover that the SAMURAI! GUNS! WHORES! trailer on ADV's site has been replaced with something far less amusing. Bleh. I have the vague suspicion that they never intended to release that one publically. Pity I never did get around to saving it - it's something I'd have liked to have had for future amusement.

I still can't decide if Madlax is the complete and utter tripe it seems after the first episode, or if there's actually an interesting story hiding in there somewhere. After eight episodes...I just don't know. I do know one thing, though - I will continue to rent every single volume for one thing, and one thing alone - the Conversations with SSS extra. That is some brilliantly funny stuff.

I'm almost finished with Johnathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and plan to read The Time-Traveller's Wife next. After that, however, I'm at a loss - so we'll have a bit of a game to figure out what I'm going to read next. If you're interested:

1) Pick a number from 1-8
2) Pick a number from 1-10
3) Pick a direction - right or left

The first number corresponds to a shelf, the second will be the book's position on the shelf, and the third determines which direction I go to determine #2. In the case that the chosen book is a part of a series, I'll start from the beginning of said series and read the whole thing.

Although, as always, if you have any specific requests, feel free to share. ^_^

Here's a fascinating article on dubbing world-wide that is, for whatever reason (I suspect sleep deprivation - Erik got home early, apparently for the sole purpose of waking me up to tell me about his trip...thanks, man!) amusing the heck out of me.

Someone remind me to find the person responsible for this and ensure that he can never, ever again reproduce.

What...the...hell!?!

And, again, this turns up when I'm trying to browse for opera DVDs.

[EDIT] The Amazon link, which is blessedly free of painful, eye-gouging details.

The box version of Hare+Guu V1...On second thought, I'll let this speak for itself:

From animenation.com :

AN Entertainment News from Metrocon
*extraneous stuff I don't care about removed*

The first DVD volume of Haré+Guu will be going into replication soon for release later this year. The first of 7 DVD volumes for the TV series will be released in a disc only edition and a disc with collector's box that includes an afro wig that doubles as a chest hair wig.

Genius!
