The Zoo over Ambuscade Street

I spent today engaging in an activity which is now high on my list of things not to do on a hot summer day - burning yard debris. Erik, for whatever reason, elected to not have all of said debris piled up before he started the fire, so we had to continue throwing the wood on while the pile was alight. It sucked pretty badly, but the yard looks much, much better now.

Which doesn't mean that it's anywhere near to being done, as we still have at least nine untouched acres that are going to require heavy equipment to get cleared. But at least it's a start.

I do love the smell of woodsmoke, though.
