It looks like I'll be taking a trip out to Sperryville this week to buy mead by the case. Or, possibly, by the barrel. It all depends on the price. Erik wants at least six bottles for himself...at this assumes John only has the traditional mead, and none of the special meads.

Apparently Cornie was thrilled with the idea of serving mead, and the winery had no issue with it, which was the only real concern - serving another winery's wine on the grounds might have upset people, but luckily it didn't. Probably because while mead is sort of wine, Lake Anna Winery doesn't make it.

Now I need to find out what he currently has available, what the prices are, and how many ounces per bottle, so I can make up a few signs to advertise. Perhaps as The Queen's Own Mead, since it was Elizabeth I's favroite drink. I'm hoping for some sort of bulk discount, but no breath-holding going on there.

Yay! I'm all excited. Mood is marginally improved - the danger to those around me has decreased dramatically. Work is still deadly dull, though.

I heartily endorse the rise of Infernokrush fiction.

For some reason, this feels like it's quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen all year. Maybe I just need a nap.

Why does this sound like something a certain other Meagen would write? Note to self: Use "SFnal" badly out of context in a meeting this week.

I adore reading blogs like these, because it makes me feel less of a freak. There are actually people out there who have read more of the genre than I have. Of course, most of them get paid for it in some fashion...I'm in the wrong line of work. Why can't I get paid for the things I really, really like doing?

[EDIT] SELF!!! STOP BROWSING BOOKLOSEOUTS!!! YOUR CART (after this morning's order) CURRENTLY SITS AT $255.12, AND HAS 54 BOOKS IN IT, COUNTING THE OMNIBUSSES AS A SINGLE BOOK! ALSO, YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HALF OF THESE BOOKS BEFORE TODAY!

Oh, but I'm saving $688.43, and will be able to open my own library! I needed to buy more bookshelves anyway...
