And there was much exaggerated rolling of eyes. People are stupid. Some...are stupider than most.

I'm tired, grumpy, and have no patience at all today.

[EDIT] Fixed link. I'm having a shitty day.

Apparently, NMCI fucked up. Shocking!

My organization is in the middle of a "reorganization", which basically consists of moving everybody from where they were to somewhere else. Because of NMCI, this is supremely difficult - there's a process we have to go through to get each and every computer moved, which takes anywhere from two days to three months, without any notice which it's going to be.

Now, when my building was going through NMCI deployment, I was directly involved in every single step - I didn't delegate anything. My branch head has gone on record saying that "it could have been handled better." Hah!

The building next door is larger than mine, so the deployment process was more complicated, and they delegated almost everything, not to just a few people, but to a pool of about fifty people. Let it be henceforth known that, while completely exhausting, my way was better.

Because things were delegated to such a low level, nobody ever really had a handle on how things were being done across the entire building. The result?

We're trying to move people, but NMCI can't, because the switches they installed are completely full. Completely. Five 48-port blades in each of three wings, with maybe ten free ports across all of them. Eight hundred people need to move. They can't all move at once, and some of them are coming in from other buildings. Huzzah!

The department plan is to install the infrastructure ourselves, and attempt to charge NMCI to the tune of the $80K or so it'll cost. *snort* This is what we call a "disconnect from reality."

Somehow, this entire situation is going to end up being my fault. Just wait.

*lusts*

My R1 Sailor Moon S DVDs need a home. And since there's six of them, they'll fill up this box quite nicely, I think. CDJapan, you'll be the death of me yet.
