My car was finished yesterday. They didn't think to call me about it until 5:30. They close at 6. I had a rental car that had to be returned first, and I live about fourty mintues from the shop. I'll let you do the math.
So, this morning - Erik and I got up at O'Dark-thirty, as usual. I started brushing my teeth, Erik starts stretching. Then lets out the most horrid shriek, stumbles and lurches his way out of the bathroom, and collapses face-first onto the bed. Nice.
Turns out he hurt his back, big-time. Which is really to be expected - he mowed two acres last weekend with a pushmower, and then attempted a pilates move meant to be done on a flat surface on his Total Gym - which was at the highest possible elevation. His back had been hurting ever since (gee, I wonder why...), and the stretch this morning was the last straw. I had to stay home again (darn...) in case he needed to go to the hospital. Brat.
I thoughtlessly abandoned him around 10AM this morning, and picked up my car. Yay! It's all better, and looks as good as new. They even washed it for me. Tears of joy, my friends, tears of joy...
Even better news! Tomorrow is Erik's last day on the day squad, so my life and sleep schedule can return to some semblance of normalicy. Saturday will be spent at the Baltimore Aquarium with K and company for her birthday (I'll bring Nadia, just in case ^_^), which should be loads of fun. Yay!
Huge Piles of Cash were spent today at TRSI's Tokyopop sale. That's going to have to be close to it as far as spending money goes until after the fall - need to save up for trees. Trees are expensive. Terrifyingly so.
