Insurance company has capitulated, and determined that yes, this was a hit-and-run, and yes, I pay the $200 deductible rather than $500, and yes (this is the part that suprised me), I even get a rental. Since I don't have rental coverage (really, I need to fix this), I was suprised, but I guess under Virginia state law, hit-and-run falls under the same statute as uninsured motorists, and rental cars are automatically covered. Yay!
It's kind of sad that things this minor made me as happy as it did. I made it to work today by the kindness of New!Boss Lady, who I couldn't get ahold of last night. She called me again this morning early (since she knew I'd be up), and picked me up. And was late as a result.
Another odd thing about Yahoo JP auctions - I had bid on and won an auction last week for one of the Tokyo Mew Mew boxes. When the deputy service tried to pay, the seller refused to sell it.
Today, it shows back up on Y!JP - with a second picture, showing a damaged corner. And a bid price much lower than the original. Go figure.
This is one of the most fascinating blog posts I've ever read - even on into the comments section (although some, I think, were in horrid taste). Well worth the read.
