I am an individual prone to opinions, usually strongly held. However, I am willing to be swayed, willing to be convinced, and willing to change based on presented evidence.
Do not, however, attempt to convince me to change an opinion that is backed by my education, my morals, and my ethics, when all you offer is a thinly-disguised "stop picking on me" or "wait and see" or something of that nature (yes, this part is specifically directed at one person in particular. You know who you are, and are also now free of restriction). I am perfectly willing to let others have their own opinions, even ones that differ greatly from mine, provided they have the integrity to allow me my own. That is the core. Disagree with me, but do not tell me my opinion is wrong unless you plan to back that up. There is no quicker way to raise my ire than that (at least, that I've found so far, short of mere existance for certain individuals).
Also, things in this journal are for my benefit, and mine alone. They are not directed at anyone else, or for the benefit of anyone else, unless explicitly marked as such. I do, you know, have friends, people I talk to, coworkers, casual aquaintances, and so forth (even family!) who may, on occasion, spark a rant in this journal, or provide the seed for an entry. Do not assume that you are the target of something if you're reading this and not named. I don't work that way. I tend to the blunt and direct, not the roundabout.
Respect, in my world, is not something that is earned. It is given freely, without condition or strings, until such a time as it is lost. Once it is lost, it is a much more difficult thing to regain.
