I have to go to Richmond today. I don't wanna. At least this time I know I can make them drive me to the nearest bookstore while I wait, where I will read many things. And sulk, because yesterday's snow and today's car issue means that I'll be working 12 hour days tomorrow through Saturday.

Our dog is an endless font of amusement. Erik occasionally gets too rough with her, causing the occasional yelp. The other day he was throwing the tennis ball for her - he was standing up, legs apart, with Sara sitting between his legs (but not touching him) and facing the same direction. He throws the tennis ball. She jumps up, yelps, falls sideways, and limps under the table like she's really hurt. If I hadn't been standing at just the right angle, I would have thought he actually did something to her. She sulked under the table and favored her leg until Erik went into the kitchen for a dog biscuit, when she magically became fine.

I think she was shooting for an Oscar. It was one of the funniest things I've seen.

*really needs to stop stalling...*

I am become Danielle, Destroyer of Computers! All shall kneel before me and tremble!

Yea, my mystery car issue that they had never, ever seen before turned out to be a shot computer, which took only about an hour to replace. A bad, dangerous hour, since they had thoughtfully placed a Mini catalog on the table next to me. Did you know they make mud flaps for Minis? I didn't either, but it's officially the Most Useful Thing Ever, when you consider that I live on a dirt road.

$60 or so for the mud flaps. Over $300 to install them. Yea, I'm going to call up my friendly neighborhood ex-landlord (who I used to singlehandedly keep in business before The Bad Hurricane etc) who happens to own a body shop to see what he'd charge me.

They also now make Minis in purple. And dark silver, and the sexah gold (which looks amazing on the convertible model), and a pretty dusty blue...my Rosalind needs a friend. Or three. And I can get blue leather interiors, now, and Union Jack (or checkers, I can't decide) decorations for my side mirrors, and bonnet stripes with edging, and...

Yea, it was bad. Erik wants a gold convertible Mini with a bike rack, now. And to think, he laughed when I said I wanted one. He did want a truck - now it's all "I think it'd be a good car to commute in!" He's all jealous of my stylish 36MPG.

Oh - and I iPod connectordoodle is now available. I was afraid to ask how much that would cost to install ("about half an hour" was what I was told when I called a few months back. I don't know what that translates to in American dollars). Since that involves actually doing things to the electrical harness, I can't call in favors there. ^_^;

I love my car. Oh yes, yes I do.

I also love the fact that it somehow only took me 58 minutes to get from the Mini dealership to my house. I was driving fast, but I didn't think I was driving that fast - luckily my +5 License Plates of Police Invulnerability kept me safe.
