God help me, I'm tracking down more out of print books. Expect to see The Chronicles of Mavin Manyshaped on a bookstore shelf near you in a matter of months.
However, if anyone stumbles across copies of The Search of Mavin Manyshaped or Dervish Daughter for under $20, I'm in the market. Any condition, as long as they're readable.
Christmas was fun. The crazy mother-in-law's house is extremely nice...as long as you don't look too close. It lacks things like trim around the windows and the floor, the banister and several of the doors are unfinished wood, there are no doorknobs...No doorknobs. At all. Including the front door. There was a Christmas towel shoved into it.
But the stonework is gorgeous, the coffered ceiling is amazingly nice, the hickory cabinets and floors are droolworth, and there's space!! Fitting ten people into a 900 sq ft house isn't cool. Fitting nine people plus fifteen guests is nightmarish. Those same people fit much better into a 6000 sq ft house. MUCH better.
Nick's doing better as well - his vision is starting to come back little by little. He has some peripheral now, nothing else, but it's a damn sight better than the nothing he came out of the coma with. I have hope that he'll continue to get better, to the point where he can see again. He's doing well otherwise, though.
I have presents - mostly books. It was a Merry Salvatore Christmas from Erik, with two of the Forgotten Realms trilogy books (and other books. And a chocolate fondue pot). That kind of backfired, as instead of reading Icewind Dale, I decided I wanted to play it instead. There goes my life.
Yay! Off to enjoy my full week of no responsibilities at all.
