The Twelve Days of Christmas are not a countdown to Christmas Day. They do not end on December 25. They start on December 25, and end on January 6.
Let me repeat.
The Twelve Days of Christmas are not the days leading up to December 25, damnit!
If you want a freaking countdown, there's already a perfectly good one out there, otherwise known as Advent. You know, Advent as in Advent Calendars, where you open the little doors and get little chocolates for every day in December leading up to the 25. Leave the freaking Twelve Days alone.
