Thanksgiving was sucessful, the turkey came out perfect (and pretty), and with a few exceptions (Terry did Raw Turkey Handling duty, Rachel and Erik were on potato peeling duty (and did we have a lot of potatos...) and Mom eventually woke up from her all-day nap to finally cook her green bean casserole), I did all the cooking my myself. Sigh - I'm exhausted. But, despite the fears, the turkey did not make pregnant women's feet swell, there was more than enough food, my hot water heater, kitchen, and septic system survived, the dogs didn't try to kill each other (to the contrary - Sara liked old pimp-daddy DP quite a bit), and nobody got lost for long enough for the food to get cold.

All the dishes are washed, even, although I haven't gotten around to putting the last load away. Now to spend the weekend recovering before my trip next week...

When a pregnant woman comes to your house for dinner bearing her own tupperware containers, and asks to take home a few leftovers, don't expect that there will be all that much left after she's done.

I had half a turkey left - now I've got scraps of light and dark meat, and two legs. That's it.

Ah well - she took half the ham, too, but there's still quite a bit left. It amused me greatly.
