The Zoo over Ambuscade Street

It makes me almost giddy to see so many of my friends voting for Badnarik. I feel that I've, in some little way, made some difference this year. In a good way - we need more third party support.

Not saying that the Badnarik effect is entirely my fault, but I think I've been his most vocal supporter in these parts.

Taking a comment made in another journal about taking votes away from Kerry and the 'Nader effect' - traditionally, Libertarians get the bulk of their support from the ranks of the Republican party.

Nothing insightful to add to that, really, although I'm happy to open the floor to discussion.

And dude - Obama's going to be president some day. I'm just sayin'.

My local newspaper made Slashdot, with a story about bringing broadband to local rural communities, and I didn't get to see it until today, because my dial-up connection sucks so bad. Bitterly, I am not part of the Northern Neck - I just work there.

Which reminds me - Adelphia hasn't called me back yet. Time to call them up again and waste more of their time...

This has quite a few people up in arms today. Lots of Redskins fans in these parts. Lots of party-line Republicans in these parts, too. Lots of people giving me funny looks for voting Badnarik. A few people arguing that it would be a mess if he won, because he doesn't have A Plan or backing from Congress, which would make it hard for him to Do Things. Not many responses to my assertation that a Libertarian in the White House probably wouldn't have Doing Things as a goal, and that Making the Federal Government Not Do Things would be more of a priority.

Also not much of a rejoinder to my assertation that that's a sign we need more parties in Congress.

It would certainly be an interesting four years, that indeed it would.
