It's good to know that it's not just in the US that journalism has gone to crap.

It was a joke, people, not an anecdote! And a random comment on Slashdot shouldn't ever be considered a reliable source.

[EDIT] And beware, lest Neopets make you a gambling addict! Lots of gems, but this one was special:

"There's many, many different species and they're all based on real things, like a Lupe is a dog, a Scorchio is a dragon," Jacqui said.

To use the phrase "I won't be your monkey" at least once in a serious conversation at work.

For whatever reason, I am on fire today. I've finished most of what I (seriously) wanted to get done this week already. It won't last much longer, though, as I have a bit of a migrane sneaking up on me.

And Wawa no longer has Cookies and Cream Cappucino. Instead they have some horrid concotion that combines coffee with cinammon and apples. Think apple cider, with some coffee mixed in. It Isn't Right.

Oct 21: Visit Smokehouse Winery, assuming we can get an appointment. Mead++ Maybe visit a few other wineries in the area. Enjoy a nice picnic lunch outside as I shamelessly skip work for the hell of it.

Oct 22-24: Work; drive to Delaware. Entertain Thomas and Stacey for the weekend, as we're all in need of entertainment

Oct 29-31: Yard work in Va Beach. Meet up with Ken for Thai if he's free

Nov 3: Start digging bomb shelter (tentative)

Nov 5-6: I don't remember, but I know I have something planned. Maybe go to visit Nick at First Colony Winery and get massive discounts. Perhaps take care of Christmas presents for my side of the family that way. Affirm inability to ever become vegan.

Nov 13-14: Work all weekend in preparation for the upcoming Week of Hell

Nov 15-24: Week of Hell; also need to grocery shop, clean house, and prep for house full of guests somewhere in there. Since I may not get to come home until sometime the 24th, I'm not sure how this is going to happen.

Nov 25: Supervise while Mom and Rachel cook; also make fun of pregnant women, play pool, and eat turkey. And ham. There will be a ham.

Nov 26-29: Return to work to salvage the shattered remains of functionality from Hell Week

Nov 30: Realize I have to, at some point, go Christmas shopping

Dec 4-5: Maybe see my husband again. We won't have his schedule for another month, so I don't know. Sigh in relief, as we have nothing else scheduled after this, weekend-wise, that I'm aware of at this time. Panic as I realize I have a month until my Big Presentation.

Dull moments! I crave dull moments!
