I spent months compiling a spreadsheet from scattered bits of data here and there that had large amounts of necessary technical data in it for a presentation I'm making today. I had two copies of this spreadsheet - one in it's own file, and one in a second tab on another spreadsheet file.

They're both gone. Just...not there. No data at all. And the presentation's in an hour. Did I mention that it took me almost two months to compile all this data? I don't have to go searching for all the raw data again, but I still have to sift through it all again, which is going to take at least a week.

Why can't I get this freaking albatross of a project done and over with!?! It's causing me way too much stress.

I am the queen of BS. However, as a direct result of this, I have to give a Big Presentation in December to Important People from a building with more than four sides to try to get money to pay for my project.

This strikes me as rather intimidating. I'm really bad at coherency when giving presentations. Really bad. Also bad at thinking like a manager and giving arguments that non-techie manager-types find compelling. Also not so good at public speaking, unless it's a theatrical monologue of some sort. Actually, scratch that, I was bad at those too. ^_^;;

Tokyo has 42,000 police officers. Fourty two thousand. Erik got to spend part of the evening working with one.

I also think I have the stomache flu that's been going around at work. Joy. I felt fine this morning. But that means I get to stay home and cuddle with the dog and drink tea, so I suppose it works out. Although it's more fun to cuddle with the dog and drink tea when I'm not feeling sick...
