This weekend was restful. I did...pretty much nothing. Watched anime, worked out until I collapsed (four times. I'm a glutton for punishment). Played with the dog, wore her out to the point where she went to bed early without me all three nights. It was funny to watch.

The dog also got bit on the nose by a black snake on Friday, and Erik felt compelled to (and I quote) "get his Croc-Hunter on." I kid you not. At least it was a black snake and not one of the three different poisonous varieties in the area. I have renewed my vow to Avoid Yardwork, which consists mainly of removing piles of dead wood. Yea. Erik gets nine days off in a row starting today, so he can do it.

Things watched: )

In other news, I hate with great hate all of you who have seen the end of PGSM. Just know that.

Work is going to suck this week. I have to cancel the Cool Things in favor of the Neverending Project of Suckiness, since I don't know what I'm doing with it. Blah. This weekend will be spent in Oktoberfest Goodness up in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

I think I just found my Linux distro of choice. I still haven't suceeded in finding any players in the area, which makes me sad. I have trouble playing online, as I get Too Easily Distracted by other things.

Why isn't the Hikaru no Go anime licensed yet? I can't buy the manga because of stupid edits, and I'm not forking over the cash for the R2 discs. Bitterness.

Oh! I also read volumes 9-14 of 20th Century Boys over the weekend, which is by the same guy who did Monster. As much as I love Monster, 20th Century Boys is so, so much better. So much better, in fact, that it's managed to kick Berserk out of my #1 favoritest manga spot. I have one volume left to read, but it's not the last volume of the story, so I want to save it. Especially since it looks like *coughCOUGHcough*. Yea. Good stuff, incredibly good. Anyone know when Volume 16 comes out?

I'm making an effort to avoid political discussion at the moment, because it's becoming exceedingly bad for my health. Especially this place, which almost had me in a foaming fit with the bits about Colorado last week.

However, there are exceptions to all things, and this is one of them:

Aaaiii! They are here! All of them! Shrub-Crawfordath! The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young! Donald Rumsfeld! Aaaiii! Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Krugman R’lyeh wagn’nagl fhtagn! Aiiiiiii!!!

I do believe I'm going to have Lunch with Lovecraft today.

Email from my mother:

Blah blah blah Neat picture of your house from orbit! Blah blah Rachel and Michelle are both looking very pregnant. Blah blah blah.

Me: *happily replies* Waitaminnit....Rachel and MICHELLE!?!?! I didn't know about Michelle!!!!!!

So this now makes Rachel, my cousins Wendy and Shayna, and my sister-in-law Michelle all due in February. This leaves me with a distinct dearth of female relatives that are un-pregnant. There's Maddy, my five-year old cousin; Lisa, my fifteen-year-old basketball playing cousin who doesn't seem to realize that males are anything other than opponents; my other sister-in-law Elizabeth, who's too goal-oriented at the moment to have kids; and a few on Erik's father's side who I don't know.

I think there's something in the water...I'm going to have to avoid the rest of my family for a while.
