Looking for Unix OS experience related to network security issues. I know the 6P3 baseline has significant probs that we can flag such as services that are enabled but are not needed for the system to operate, etc. There aren't any LM documents available (that I'm aware of) that describe the user accounts, group structures, file ownerships, etc. so there will be some need to try (emphasis on try) to reverse engineer the design to get a handle on the correct file permissions, etc.

This is part of what I'm going to be starting next Monday. Really Cool, but Really Hard as well. I'm not sure if my Unix experience is up to it - I know what I'll be doing all weekend.

Still, this is the stuff I thought I was going to be doing two and a half years ago when I started. If anyone knows of any good references, dead tree or otherwise, that I should be looking at, please share.

(In other news, I hate the new journal update page. I like to tab once from title to body, not fifteen times)
