machine_dove at 08:48am on 16/08/2004We are moved. Mostly. Erik, since he "had to work" on Saturday when my parents and I moved all the heavy furniture in the rain, gets to do most of that himself after I leave.
It was...exhausting. We cleaned, packed, moved, unpacked, drove, unpacked more, loaded and unloaded the truck (which is apparently fitted with a Pocket Dimension, as the volume of what we put in said truck far exceeded the capacity of said truck) until we all passed out. And then we did the same thing yesterday (with some assistance from the Redneck Brother and his friend. My burly man-crew finally showed up (partially)!)
Most of the furniture is where it needs to be. The correctly labled boxes are mostly unpacked, and the rest of them are filled with god knows what. I'll find places for it all...eventually. The office is mostly unpacked, the books are mostly put away (although in no kind of order...I just threw them up on the shelves), the computer is hooked up, but...
I have no internet connection from home. At all. The phone line still hasn't been activated, and even if it was I lack a modem in my computer. The DirecTV probably won't be installed until September 11, and assuming we can get satellite internet, that won't be installed until sometime later.
Erik gets to finish moving stuff out of the other house and clean it himself, as I'll be out of town for the Crazy Sister's Wedding. Starting tomorrow. Assuming I can find the stuff I need to pack to bring with me. ^_^
