Someone else put in a bid against the house. The sellers counteroffered our 205 with 209, we accepted. Our realtor's trying to get in touch with their realtor to see if that means they're accepting our contract. *flips out*
Filled out mortgage application. $650, for application fee and appraisal. Locked in a 6% rate - not as good as it could have been if we bought when I originally wanted to, but not as bad as it could be, either. I could have gotten down to 5.25%, but I don't have an extra $5000 on top of the downpayment laying around.
*flips out more* Also had strange email exchanges with Boss Man (currently vacationing at the beach) all day long. After years of being hated by him, this comraderie is strange indeed. He offered to help move my stuff with his truck and trailer. He also asked if there was something about him that rubbed people the wrong way (original exchange started with notification that a meeting I was supposed to attend for him was cancelled for the second week in a row - I commented that they must not like Big Al and I much). I...didn't touch that.
Not-Scary Big John commented that I should look into getting a seaplane and flying from Lake Anna to the Potomac, since it would be a much faster commute. Erik didn't take this as a joke. I find my desire for wind-turbine generators and a fully stocked Montana militia-style bunker slightly more realistic.
*flails around in a blind panic* Pretty Cure. Pretty Cure will make it better. (Aside: Why do I have a weakness for bad magical girl shows? Why? There are better things to watch, even on my hard drive and DVD shelves, yet Pretty Cure is the only thing holding my attention for an entire episode.)
