Too! Much! Work!

Remind me to shoot the people responsible for leaving me in charge without bothering to brief me on what's going on, leaving me to flounder cluelessly in the dark.

This is not going to be a good two weeks. Ha ha! And I thought I was going to manage to get caught up on things! Ha ha! I may have to come in and work the weekends as well to get everything sort of done.

In other news, I don't understand the world of Miss Utility and digging permits and related topics. This is why I have the name of a highly recommended real estate lawyer in hand for when we (*sniirk*) actually, y'know, buy a house and stuff.

And speaking of which! I meant to post this several days ago, but got distracted:

I sometimes get the vague, unsubstantiated feeling that my husband really, really doesn't understand what makes me tick. Then, there are other times when I get sudden and dramatic proof that, in fact, he's more clueless than I ever could have imagined.

Yea, he's more clueless than most. It only took three years for him to figure out what I had figured out in three seconds. I need to remember that he learns things the hard way, and only the hard way.

Getting married. On August 19 or 20. In Illinois. Gah!!!

I should mention that work is going to be Very, Very Busy for me during that time period, and that I will be in the process of moving, since I refuse to deal with a third rent increase this year, this one a full hundred dollars. For, if I may say, a shithole with broken windows.

Even better, Erik can't come, so I'm going to have to deal with The Bastard without backup, as it were. It won't be pretty. I'll have to try not to draw blood. Mom's lawyers haven't gotten in touch with him yet, either, which is going to be Far Less Pretty.
