Hoi jeebus. Just saw Spiderman 2. (No spoilers, I promise) I've been avoiding reviews and whatnot, and up until the tr*mumble* scene, I thought it would be almost, but not quite as good as the first one. I was wrong. Very, very wrong. Excellent story, excellent characters, and the Best. Fight scene. Evar. I mean that, really. It's the one that happens right after the b*mumble* r*mumble*.
Wow. And, while the CGI was weak at a few points, it (along with the other special effects) was mercifully only used when the story called for it, unlike a certain other movie (*cough*MatrixRevolutions*cough*) whose emphasis on special effects rather than story made going to the theatre so unpleasant that this is only the second movie I've been to this year (the other, of course, being Harry Potter).
Yea, go see it. I had more stuff I wanted to say, but I can't remember it at the moment, so I'm going to run off and enjoy the rest of my pre-anniversary day with Erik. Cheers!
(Note: If anyone feels compelled to make me an icon with a closeup of one of Doc Oc's claw-things with the wording "Evil Genius" or "Mad Scientist", feel free.)
Ah! That's what it was! We need more tormented mad scientists in movies. They make the best bad guys. Really.
And, for your l33t amusement, here's The F3ll0wsh1p of teh R1ng
