The Zoo over Ambuscade Street

Erik and I have been tearing through the Futurama discs I picked up during the DDD sale. Fabulous show, but the most entertaining thing about it is that we both laugh fairly frequently during it, but at completely different things. The episode where Bender is wearing an apron that said "To Serve Man" had me almost in tears, and Erik didn't even recognize that there was a joke there.

S'okay, though. He's going to be working all weekend, and I have three days off with no plans - I could spend the holiday with his family, but that might get messy, and spending time with Erik's family while Erik isn't there isn't as entertaining as it could be. Mike recommended coming to see all the stuff the base has planned - fireworks, games, food, all free - so that's a possibility, I dunno. Walking around base is nice, too, because of the light traffic, the nice, shady sidewalks (!!!), and the generally pleasant atmosphere. Hmmmm....walk a few miles on base, eat lunch, walk a few more miles, watch fireworks, go home - that might be fun.

As of today I'm in charge until July 18. Slightly intimidating, but I have enough work to do myself that I don't think I'll have enough time to notice.
