Heh - I get back in town, have piles of stuff to catch up on, and am left in charge for the week, officially. Nice.

Anyway, anyone who wants a Gmail account, let me know, and I'll send out invites as I get them - I've gotten one thus far, and it went to Erik, so any additional are free right now. I really like the interface thus far. It's taken a bit of getting used to what with the Archive thing and the star thing and the label thing, but it seems to work really well. It's kind of odd not needing to delete all my email, though.

*droolslaverlust*

No mention of the Mini there, but I have one o' those there mulitfunction steering wheels (which is, quite frankly, about the greatest thing since sliced bread. Not only did I almost break my foot stomping on the imaginary clutch while I was driving Erik's car home, but I kept reaching for the imaginary volume controls and channel changer on the back of the steering wheel, too).

I want.

In other news, Erik just called me up to talk about house listings he's looking at. The urge to reach through the phone and strangle him was high. Very high. It's not even remotely amusing anymore.

[EDIT] Yum. The Mini iPod connectordoodle isn't going to be out until late summer, early fall. No pricing info yet, but labor is going to be approximately half an hour. However much that is...knowing most dealer mechanics, probably somewhere in the $8 gajillion range. I can wait. I don't have an iPod yet, after all - must get that house first, and wait for the next batch of iPods in the futile hope that I will be able to get an 80GB green one for the same price as the current 40GB one (actually not all that futile, although I may be a touch optimistic on the size - 60GB is more likely).

Buh?

Let's play another game of Good Idea, Bad Idea:

Good Idea: Using targeted mailing to advertise to 10,000 people

Bad Idea: Making your targeted mailing look exactly like a pipe bomb, complete with digital timer that starts counting down when the package is opened.

People...amaze me sometimes. See also: Making perfume packaging to look just like a grenade, not only when you look at it, but also when examined by X-ray! I forsee lots of people having really bad days over both of these little gems.
