This has, thus far, been an interesting trip. Nothing actually started until Sunday night, so we had most of the day Saturday and all morning/early afternoon Sunday to play. We did Bourbon street Saturday night, wandered down Decatur and ate at Cafe du Monde, visited the most fabulous shop on Royal street called Fifi Mahoneys, and just generally goofed off. Drank a bit, too...

I obtained lots of schwag (glowing pens, juggling balls, magnetic bendy-man clocks, etc), lots of contradictory information, and lots of confusion after the conference actually started. Lots of confusion. Like the vendor who is at a NMCI conference but didn't know what NMCI was, much less if his product was approved for use on the NMCI network.

At one point my department was told that we were looking at NMCI through rose-colored glasses. If that's the case than these admirals and senators (lots of both ^_^;;) who have been talking are looking at NMCI through rose-colored blindfolds. Everything is working perfectly, saving us money, on schedule, and enabling us to do things we couldn't do before. Riiiiight.

I've made a few contacts with people associated with NMCI who are working at or around Dahlgren - that should be useful. And they're feeding us breakfast and lunch through Wednesday, and dinner tomorrow - that's kind of nice, too. We're on our own for all meals the rest of the week, but we can get breakfast for free at the hotel.

Dell rocks. They have a "cyber-cafe" set up, which is how I can post this. Pity they're leaving on Wednesday. I've at least temporarily run out of things to write, but I'll post more later if I can. Cheers, all!
