Daaaaaaamn.

I highly, highly recommend all three of these series. And the boxes. Purty boxes, for $9. These three series are probably my favorites that are currently being released.

Heat Guy J is a little bit Bebop, a little bit cop/mystery drama, and has a fun soundtrack with bagpipes. T3h win.

Texhnolyze is kinda like Lain on crack, with more violence and suspense. Kinda. It's hard to describe, but the gorgeous ABe art should speak for itself.

Last Exile just rocks - steampunk drama with war, airships, and mysteries. Also Range Murata character designs, which are always good.

[EDIT] Damn, deal's dead now. But it was rather nice while it lasted!

Yesterday was my birthday, and an all-around decent day it was, too. Work went fairly well, I got a huge chunk of work done on my PDS book - almost complete now, and I actually got to go home mostly on time. Yay!

Erik was sleeping when I got home, woke up long enough to give me my (unwrapped ) birthday presents - three Charles de Lint trades and a large Yankee candle, and then he went back to sleep for another two and a half hours. I chatted with my mother, goofed off on the computer, and finally woke Erik up because I was getting bored. We went out to dinner, came back, goofed off and watched Heat Guy J 6 (Yay for plot twists!). 'Twas fun.

Today didn't start off quite as nice - I managed to get 15 miles away from my house when I realized I didn't have my badge. I can't even get into my office, much less my building or the base without it, so I had to go back home to get it. Bleh. Worked a bit, and then checked the online property listings for anything new and exciting.

Well...I found something. Not necessarily new, but certainly exciting. Over 11 acres, 20 miles from where I work, with a stream and cleared pasture on the property, and two possible homesites - this means it's already been surveyed and perked (perqed? I have no idea). I'm vague on the details of what goes on in that process, but I do know that it's a good thing. The realtor's sending me some information, and we'll probably go take a look at it on Erik's next day off.

It's also apparently in a niiiiiice neighborhood set on a bay off the Rappahannock river. Hiking, fishing, lots of wildlife - I see no drawbacks thus far. The listing's been up for a few years as well, so there might be some hope for a price break - it's more than I wanted to spend on just land, but it's such nice land that it's rather hard to resist. Erik was positively gleeful when I told him about it.

Things progress apace...expect a bit from me about my past and current books sure to scandalize Izzy soon. ^_~
