*beats the theory of "compound interest" into Erik's head with a blunt object*
Somehow, he thinks we can afford a $550,000 house, using MagicMath(tm). At least we've moved on to a new, improved housing issue today, and may actually be calling a realtor (I so don't think I spelled that right, but after today I'm not going to think about it or anything else anymore) tomorrow. About a house that puts me 20 miles farther from work, but is of a decent size, on decent acreage, with a fence and barn. And is probably already sold.
I'm pushing for land and a modular home at the moment - after seeing Rusty's up close and looking at how it was built, I'm much impressed. Erik's big hangup is that we'll have to wait another couple of months before we could actually move in. At this point, almost three freaking years and almost $25,000 in rent later, something like that feels so trivial to me that I don't even care.
