I managed to rip all my work and car CDs over the weekend - somewhere between 200-250 CDs. I still have to get all of Erik's CD, along with the big binder of CDs we keep in the house.

This means that the 1400 some songs, 3.7 days, and almost 5GB of music I've ripped represents a bizzare conglomerate of music - lots of "classical," some rock, some alternative, quite a few soundtracks, and a sprinkling of just odd stuff. iTunes randomly classifies much of this as "World," which I guess is fairly all-encompassing. Lots of Cirque du Soleil, too.

I'll get the stuff I've promised people uploaded. I'm trying to track down the Princess Tutu and other Bebop soundtracks - as much as I want to buy the limited versions of the Tutu R2 DVDs that come with the CDs, I can't justify paying $80 for a CD and a DVD that I'm going to turn around and rebuy with english subtitles for around $17 in a year or so. Just...can't justify it.

I'm going to start on the rest of the collection tonight, which should make things much more balanced. Not that it will in any way mitigate the oddity of my CD collection (most of which I did not, in fact, purchase - most were gifts of various stripes, or kidnapped from my father).

Tell me, what possible use are package tracking numbers if you can't actually track a package with them? And since when does "Package accepted in Fredericksburg blah blah on April 22" translate into "Package was put on a truck going to Fredericksburg on April 22, and will get there someday soon, maybe?"

I am redeveloping my deep and abiding hatred of the US Postal Service.

If you ever want to make your head explode, alternate discs of "World of Narue" with "Boogiepop Phantom." If that doesn't do it, few things in this world will.

Also, Key the Metal Idol rocked. Erik thought it was like Chobits, but he only watched about 15 minutes of it (a few minutes from four different episodes) and read the back of the discs, so he can be forgiven for that. Episode 14 was the show's biggest flaw, I think - 90 minutes of "Tell, don't Show" isn't really much fun. I think they could have found a better way of unfolding the backstory than that.

Work...so...boring!!!
