The Zoo over Ambuscade Street

Erik finally got the GI Joe DVD set that I bought him for Christmas. He, slavering, proceeded to throw the first disc in and provide me with more entertainment than I've had in a long time. Now, I never really watched GI Joe, because that wasn't my sort of show - give me SheRa any day. So this was more-or-less my first experience with the show.

Note that I wasn't really watching the show, either - I was doing a bunch of other things, so I'd catch a little bit here and a little bit there. Also, there was much comparing of the TV show to the original comics. That was amusing, too.

The dialogue just made me laugh. It entertained the heck out of me, and probably not in the way it was intended to. A sample is as follows:

"Yo Joe! There's a Joe transmission in Joe code coming in on the Joe frequency on the Joe radio! Yo Joe!" Actually, there were probably more exclamation points than that. Also entertaining was the scene where a ninja with a timber wolf and a sailor with a parrot were talking about "blending in." Riiiiiiight...At least it seems to have aged better than many cartoons of the same era.

Possibly related, Erik is once again talking about joining the Army Reserves. Oy.

The purpose of an election isn't to decide who won, it's to convince the loser that he doesn't have sufficient support.

Lots to ponder there.
