Damn...it really looks like we're moving now. Almost all the books are packed - I have enough left for probably two more boxes, but I need things to read between now and then, and I ran out of boxes. I also ran out of back muscles - I was careful lifting, but I lifted so much yesterday and this morning that it didn't make much difference.
The huge pile o'crap in the middle of the living room should be gone Thursday or Friday, and I should be able to get more boxes tomorrow so I can commence with more packingness. Closets and desk next, I think.
Most of the rest of this stuff will be relatively easy to move, since the place we're moving to is so (relatively) close - it'll end up being "throw stuff in plastic tubs, drive to new house, unload, and repeat." I'm hoping I can get away with making other people do that stuff (since trucks tend to hold a bit more than Mini Coopers do) while I stay at the house and put things away to my satisfaction. In the rooms I can put stuff away in, that is. Which will be the kitchen and dining room initially, and that's it. The huge laundry room will be the first painted, so we can stack boxes in there, and I'm hoping that JD can get the bookshelves built into my library in under a week...I'm tempted to see if he can start now, but I think Jon Alan might get a touch peeved with me. I do want to have him get me a materials estimate, and a time estimate so I can figure out how much I need to pay him. I need to figure out where I need extra lighting, too, since he'll be doing that as well.
Mmmm...and a spice rack. I need to come up with a hanging spice rack that can be removed if needed, since I have a panel box in the kitchen that can't be moved. I can't put cabinets over it, but I think a removable spice rack would be doable. And useful, useful is good. Once I measure out the kitchen I need to figure out which cabinets need replacing, and what size cabinets I need to fill in the gaps - I think just two, between the wall and the stove, and between the stove and the fridge. Also need to get a price on a pantry. Yay!
